Oktoberfest 2008 Saturday, October 11th - 11 am to 5 pm Come celebrate another bountiful harvest with Holy-Field this fall as we host a traditional German festival, Oktoberfest. Kicking off the festivities at 11 am will be Gordie Davidson, a European style street organ grinder. Beginning around 1 pm, enjoy the lively traditional music of an 7 piece German band. The Festhaus Musikanten is an authentic German wind orchestra whose music will certainly have you humming and singing along. Their music will delight you with plenty of familiar German favorites and may even inspire you to break into dance! When Rosamunde (Beer Barrel Polka), Schneewalzer or Liechensteiner Polka play, you will be magically transported to Bavaria. New this year will be the judging & crowning of the Man & Woman Royals by the crowd. So show us your best Oktoberfest clothes and spirit and who knows, you may just end up Royalty! We were delighted to welcome back "Dan the Bierock Man", Dan Hines. Dan's fare will delight your taste buds with traditional German Bierocks and Brats. Our special guest artist, Timothy Raglin (illustrator/author), will be personalizing his new book "The Curse of Catunkhamun" in the Banquet Hall. Oktoberfest is a rain or shine event. Reservations are not required but please call and let us know if we will be seeing you. Wine will be sold by the bottle from the Tasting Room. Please do not bring other alcoholic beverages, only Holy-Field wine will be allowed. $5.00 admission fee - children under 12 free |
